The OK Movement, a political coalition supporting a proposed joint ticket featuring Peter Obi as president and Rabiu Kwankwaso as vice president under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), was inaugurated to mobilise support for the ticket.

The National Director-General of the movement, Mr John Ughulu, made the call in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday.

Ughulu said effective electioneering required adequate preparation, functional structures and coordinated mobilisation beyond the appointment of campaign officials.

He said political organisations needed strong grassroots networks and strategies to reach voters across the country.

According to him, timely preparations are crucial as political parties and support groups intensify activities ahead of the elections.

He added that it was strengthening its structures in preparation for the forthcoming elections.

The director-general said political ambition should be backed by the capacity to mobilise supporters, coordinate activities and sustain engagement with voters.

He noted that campaign councils and prominent political figures were important but needed functional structures and effective mobilisation strategies to achieve their objectives.

Ughulu reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to organised grassroots participation, saying it would continue to strengthen its coordination and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
