ADC ​‌‌‍‍⁠​‍⁠⁠‌‍​⁠​‌‍​​‌​chairman Urges Governorship Candidates To Shun Hate Speech, Empty Promises

The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sen. David Mark, has urged the party’s governorship candidates to shun hate speech and empty promises.

A statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, on Monday, said Mark spoke at a consultation meeting with the candidates at the ADC headquarters in Abuja.

Mark urged the candidates to avoid making promises they would not keep if elected, warning that such conduct could erode the party’s integrity and credibility.

“Our campaign must reflect the kind of country we would like to build.

“Avoid hate speech, ethnic or religious profiling, and violence.

“Unlike other political parties, ADC does not believe that all is fair in politics,” he stated.

He urged the candidates to familiarise themselves with the party’s governance and ethical principles, as contained in the ‘Orange Book’ and its manifesto.

The candidates took turns expressing their gratitude to the party for granting them the platform to contest the forthcoming elections.

They expressed delight at the decision of the party and its presidential candidate to anchor the party’s campaign on bringing down the cost of living for Nigerians, especially by bringing back fuel subsidies to reduce the price of petrol.

The candidates, therefore, pledged their loyalty to the party and promised to make it proud by winning their respective elections
