Edo Gov Inauguration: Ihonvbere Heads Obaseki’s Transition C’ttee

Ahead of the November 12, 2016 swearing-in of the governor-elect of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the state government has set up a 19-member transition committee headed by the Secretary to Edo State Government, Professor Julius Ihonvbere.

This came as APC in the state described as laughable, claims by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that it was evading being served court processes, saying that after a strenuous campaign for the governorship election, the leadership of the party was expected to take a rest.

The Chief of Staff to Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Mr Patrick Obahiagbon, is the chairman of the inauguration committee.

The out-going governor of the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, will on November 12, hand over power to his successor, Mr Obaseki, who defeated his closest rival in the September 28 governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the PDP.

Meanwhile the APC in the state has described as laughable, claims by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that it was evading being served court processes. Speaking yesterday, the secretary of the party in the state, Chief Osaro Idah, explained that “it is funny to say we are evading service.

After an election like this, people are expected to take a rest including even the PDP leaders.”
