Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has nominated Chief Tom Uloko and Mr. Gideon Obhakhan as Commissioners- designate in the state.

According to a statement released by the Special Adviser (Media & Public Affairs) to the Governor, Prince Kassim Afegbua in Benin City on Wednesday, the names of the nominees have been forwarded to the State House of Assembly for screening and clearance.

Until now, Chief Tom Uloko, a Chartered Accountant, was Chairman of the State Procurement Agency while Mr. Gideon Obhakhan was a candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 House of Representatives election.

Both men, married with children are expected to come on board with their wealth of experience and inject fresh ideas into the state Executive Council.

It would be recalled that last week Governor Oshiomhole sacked four commissioners from his cabinet in what government described as an exercise in line with its commitment to strengthen the system towards optimal performance.

Those affected in the exercise which took immediate effect were Chief Lucky James, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Mrs. Blessing Maigida, Commissioner for Women Affairs; Mr. Patrick Aguinede, Commissioner for Basic Education and Mr. Chris Ebare, Commissioner for Energy and Water Resources
