Less than 24 hours after assuming the position of the Majority Party in the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), the All Progressives Congress (APC) has again received into its fold the Peoples Democratic Party’s EDHA member representing Uhunwonde Constituency, Hon. KayCee Osamwonyi.
Hon. Osamwonyi in his address disclosed that his defection was made possible by alleged irreconcilable differences in the PDP, adding that he joined the ruling APC to work with the state government in the development of Edo.
Osamwonyi said he was happy to be back into the party, noting that he joined politics to attract dividend of democracy to the people of Uhunwonde Constituency and with the blue print of Okpebholo, his people will not be left out in the area of all round development.
Receiving the new entrant into the party, the Edo APC Chairman, Jarrett Tenebe, said that Osamwonyi’s defection from PDP reflected his commitment to join the train of development piloted by Governor Monday Okpebholo.
Tenebe reaffirmed APC’s commitment to supporting the Governor in the full implementation of his five-point agenda and campaign promises.
He commended Governor Okpebholo for what he described as unprecedented development in less than one year in office, which he said have caused opposition political parties to fade into political oblivion.
