Plateau Attack: 47 Killed In Bassa Community

Forty-seven people have reportedly been killed in an attack on Zike, Kimakpa community, in Kwall District of Irigwe Chiefdom in Bassa local government area of Plateau State.

This incident is coming less than a week after 52 people were massacred in communities in the Bokkos local council.

It’s also happening less than 48 hours after a father and two sons were equally killed in the same Bassa local government area of the state.

The National Secretary of the Irigwe Development Association, Danjuma Dickson Auta, confirmed the incident

He said that the attacks occurred around 8:00 p.m., resulting in the deaths of 47 people and leaving many others injured.

The Plateau State government had expressed deep concern over the incessant killings in the state and the alleged occupation of communities by bandits, a situation that continues to fuel tensions across the middle belt region.
