Edo Lawmaker, Aiguobarueghian Lists Benefits Of Obaseki’s Admin In Ovia North East Constituency

Honorable Charity Aiguobarueghian, the Majority Leader in the Edo State House of Assembly has listed some of the gains recorded by Governor Godwin Obaseki’s led administration including the completion of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Iguoriakhi in his Constituency.

This, he said, can promote employment for his constituents, praising his efforts for such inclusiveness.

Monitored in his weekly interactive program “The Legislative Talkshow” on Silverbird Rhythm 93.7 FM tailored towards receiving feedback on government policies on Saturday in Benin City, the Ovia North East Constituency 1 representative, admitted that the governor’s efforts in oil palm produce training leverage a window of opportunities for human capacity development scheme to the people.

He informed participants during the one-hour interactive program of the need to tap into the Edo State Oil Palm Program (ESOPP), which is currently admitting citizens to its six-month training that will help them upscale to professionals.

Aiguobarueghian who urged members of the society including his primary constituents to obtain the admission form pegged at N3000, volunteered to make refunds to any indigent of Ovia North East Constituency 1 who completed the form with proof of payment receipts.

This, according to him, is part of his vision and efforts at encouraging the people to key into the veritable policies of the state government that offer them the opportunity to build sustainable capacities.

He noted that the program is tailored towards school and work programs as it is currently obtained in the UK and other parts of the advanced countries.

He added that while attending the School of Agriculture, Iguoriakhi, the Palm oil companies will sponsor such an apprentice through a six-month duration of study where graduates are trained on specific skills. 

The Edo State Oil Palm Program, in collaboration with the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Iguoriakhi, accordingly, he said, is offering training on hands-on experience and job placement for the role of Junior Plantation Operatives where candidates are required to possess four credits including, Mathematics, and English Language, with experience in oil palm and not less than 35 years.
