Tinubu Appoints New Leadership Across Communications, Innovation, Digital Economy Sectors

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday approved the appointment of new leadership across the communications, innovation and digital economy sectors in Nigeria.

The official spokesperson for President Tinubu, Ajuri Ngelale issued a statement to confirm the appointment of new and returning Chief Executives to fresh terms in office across multiple agencies.

Ngelale added that the appointments come under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.

Aminu Maida has been appointed as the EVC/CEO, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) while Nkechi Egerton-Idehen is the new MD/CEO, Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT).

Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi will take up a new position as the DG/CEO, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) with Dr. Vincent Olatunji becoming the National Commissioner/CEO, Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

Tola Odeyemi has also been appointed as the new Postmaster General/CEO, Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).

Ngelale said that furthermore, in line with Tinubu’s determination to maximally leverage on Nigeria’s proven technological and digital economic prowess to reposition the nation’s economy toward greater financial inclusion, the President has approved the appointment of a new Special Adviser for himself.

“Idris Alubankudi is now the Special Adviser to the President on Technology and Digital Economy,” Ngelale said.

“By this directive of the President, the above-mentioned appointments take immediate effect.”
