The Governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Kano State has sacked the incumbent governor of the state, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasir Yusuf, as the winner of the March 18th, 2023 election.
This is coming after the tribunal delivered its ruling via zoom on Wednesday citing security concerns.
The Tribunal is sitting at the Miller Road Kano State High Court complex. However, the parties in the case, lawyers, journalists, and other accredited persons listened to the judgment at the court premises.
The APC is challenging the electoral victory of Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) as the governor of Kano as declared by INEC in the March 18 governorship election in the state.
