Speakership: Reps Adopt Open Voting, Begin Election

House of Representatives has commenced election for the speakership of the House in the 10th assembly, using opening ballot. The House Standing Rules stipulates the election of the speaker or deputy speaker shall through electronic means or open balloting.

Three aspirants namely Tajudeen Abbas, Idris Wase and Aminu Jaji were nominated to contest for the speakership seat.
