Following a tipoff, Alltimepost.com conducted an investigation into one of Edo State Government- owned institutions of higher learning, known as the Centre for Community Development (CCD), located in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) in Benin City, the state capital. For those who know Benin City very well, this institution which was established by state Edict 11 of 1986 for the purpose of training middle level workers for the state sits behind the popular vegetable market, off the popular Airport Road in the ancient city. Affiliated to the University of Benin, Benin City, the CCD offers a 2-Year Diploma program in Community Development Programs. Terms of that affiliation include provision of part-time lecturers and moderation of the Center’s Examinations and Results. Ironically, the video you are about to watch of mostly the school’s female hostel portrays the sordid state of the institution which was once the pride of the people and state.
