Improve Welfare Of Police Officers, Oba Of Benin Tells Nigeria Govt

His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II of the Great Benin Kingdom has appealed to the Federal Government of Nigeria to improve the welfare of police officers in order for them to effectively discharge their duties.

The Benin Monarch made the appeal while receiving the new Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 5 Benin City, Mr. Rasheed Olatunde Akintunde in his Palace during the week.

While the Oba commended the police for their job of law enforcement, he called on the AIG to always contact the Palace on issues bordering on village heads, communal disputes and land matters anytime it is brought before the police command.
