Resident Doctors of Nigeria on Today (Thursday) in Kano commenced a five-day warning strike in compliance with the directive of the president of the association, Dr Muhammed Askira, at a press conference in Abuja yesterday.

According to Askira, the decision was part of the resolutions reached by the association at its extra-ordinary executive council meeting, held on May 8, 2015, claiming that the Federal Government was yet to meet their demands, as promised.

Askira listed the demands of the association to include remuneration, as well as Residential training programmes, noting that some members in some states were yet to be paid their salaries.

Disclosing that the strike, which commenced at 8am today (Thursday) would end on Sunday, May 15, 2016.
All its members are expected to resume duties on Monday, May 16 by 8am.
