Left-wing parties, unions and activist groups planned the march Saturday, while antifascist groups have announced plans for a separate protest Sunday near the convention venue, according to a State Department assessment reviewed by Fox News Digital earlier this week.

French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said Saturday that 135 people have been arrested so far across the country as a fresh wave of protests are developing, according to Reuters.

The Paris Police Department said “Violent individuals have no place in the marches.”
“The objective is clear: to prevent troublemakers from joining the procession, and to ensure the safety of the demonstrators,” it added on X.
