Edo CP Assures Corps Members Of Safety Amid Abduction Fears

Amid growing fears over reports of corps members being abducted in parts of Nigeria, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Patrick Daaor, has assured NYSC members serving in the state of adequate protection throughout their service year.

CP Daaor gave the assurance during a visit to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Okada, headquarters of Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Edo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Eno Ikoedem, said the police commissioner reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of corps members serving across the state.

“During the visit, CP Daaor delivered a goodwill address, where he interacted with the management and corps members and reaffirmed the commitment of the Edo State Police Command to the safety, security and well-being of corps members serving across the State,” ASP Ikoedem said.

She said the state police boss was received by the Edo State NYSC Coordinator, Mr Fasina Adedotun, alongside other officials and staff members of the orientation camp.

ASP Ikoedem added that the commissioner delivered a goodwill address and interacted with camp management and corps members during the visit.

She said the visit also featured a musical performance by the NYSC camp band, which added colour to the occasion.
