Troops Arrest 3 Women Over Alleged ISWAP Links In Borno IDP Camp

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested three women suspected of collaborating with terrorists in an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.

Operational report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, revealed that the operation was carried out by troops of the 222 Battalion.

The report said the operation followed intelligence and lawful communication intercepts indicating attempts to facilitate movement to a terrorist enclave.

It said the suspects were identified as Aisha Mustapha, 19, Astakawu Bura, 23, and Zarah Bukar, 50.

According to the report, preliminary investigations indicated that the women allegedly maintained contacts with terrorist elements and were involved in arrangements connected to movements into insurgent-controlled areas.

“They have been taken into military custody and are assisting investigators.

“The arrest forms part of ongoing efforts by Operation Hadin Kai to dismantle terrorist support networks and prevent infiltration within displaced persons camps and host communities,” it said.
