2027 Politics Won’t Distract Me From FCT Job – Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has assured residents that political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections will not affect his performance as FCT Minister.

Wike gave the assurance while inspecting ongoing projects across parts of Abuja.

He said politics and governance were distinct, stressing that his primary responsibility remained service delivery.

“Politics will not affect my work. If anything, it will make people happier by ensuring that the Renewed Hope Agenda is real and impactful,” he said.

The minister expressed satisfaction with the progress of the road linking Baze University, the Body of Benchers, Nile University and the Wupa Light Rail Station, which he said would be completed in May.

He also inspected the Body of Benchers extension building, noting that the project was about 80 per cent completed, as well as a 7km road linking Airport Road with Tunga Madaki and neighbouring communities. Wike directed that plans to extend the road to Zuba should commence.
