As Boston Celebrates 2025 Igue, Festival Committee Calls For Unity, More Supports

As the Edo community in Boston celebrated the 2025 Igue, an annual indigenous festival, the host committee has called for the unity of the Edo people and more supports for the continuity of the festival in the State of Massachusetts, the United States of America.

At the festival, which was held in Boston on December 27, 2025, the Chairman of the committee, Mr. Henry Idada appealed to everyone to come together and find a way

to support the very important event both morally and financially.

He explained that Igue Festival is one way the people of Benin Kingdom give special thanks to God for all the blessings during the year and cast all evil spirits and bad omens away while praying for prosperity in the coming year.

Mr. Idada solicited the celebrants’ continued participation so as not only to sustain the festival for this generation but for posterity.

Over the years, Boston Igue Festival committee, the host of the annual event, has continued to enjoy the support of numerous organizations, sons and daughters of Edo State of Nigeria.

Among the organizations that have continued to support the festival are the G-12 of Boston, Benin Club of Massachusetts, Noble Sisters, Western Boys High School Old Boys Association, Eghosa Grammar School Old Boys Association, The League of Committed Friends, Nigerian American Association, Divine Women Club, etc.
