Assistant Superintendent of Police, Eno Nkereuwem Ikoedem, has assumed office as the first-ever female Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Edo State Police Command.She assumed office at the Police Command’s Headquarters in Benin City, Edo State capital on Monday December 8, 2025.
ASP Ikoedem took over from CSP Moses Joel Yamu, who had earlier succeeded SP Chidi Nwabuzor on July 30, 2024, as a Superintendent of Police (SP).
Following his recent promotion, CSP Yamu became the first Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to serve as Command Spokesman and has now been redeployed to a new assignment outside the Edo State Police Command.
Prior to her current appointment, ASP Ikoedem served as the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Command.
A statement signed by ASP Emmanuel Nyokema, an administrative officer in the Command, disclosed that the appointment was approved by the Inspector-General of Police, (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
According to the statement, ASP Ikoedem, who hails from Akwa Ibom State, was commissioned as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in 2022 after completing a five-year training program at the Nigeria Police Academy, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English Language (BA English).
She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in English at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) to further enhance her academic and professional development.
ASP Ikoedem has also undergone several professional and specialized trainings, including the Combat Operations and Counter-Terrorism Course and the Citizenship and Leadership Training Course.
It stated that she has served in various capacities, including, Divisional Traffic Officer, Adesuwa Division, Administrative Officer, Evbuotubu Division, Officer-in-Charge, Crack Squad, Officer-in-Charge, Confidential Unit, Department of Operations, Edo State Command.
