Police Confirm Abduction Of 10 Farmers In Niger State Communities Days After School Abduction

The incident adds to growing concerns about insecurity in Shiroro and other parts of Niger State.

Gunmen have abducted 10 farmers in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, following a wave of violent attacks on local communities and a recent school kidnapping in the region.

The Niger State Police Command confirmed the incident. Public Relations Officer Wasiu Abiodun said security agencies are intensifying efforts to rescue the victims and restore safety in the affected areas.

The incident adds to growing concerns about insecurity in Shiroro and other parts of Niger State.

“On November 26, 2025, at about 8pm, a report was received indicating that suspected armed men abducted about ten persons from Angwan-Kawo and Kuchipa villages of Shiroro Local Government Area,” Abiodun said while confirming the incident.

“Effort is being made to rescue the victims.”

The attack comes less than a week after gunmen abducted more than 300 students and teachers from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, last Friday.
