Unemployment: NBM Of Africa Empowers Four With Motorcycles In Ebonyi

The Ebonyi Zone of the NBM of Africa Worldwide has empowered four unemployed members with brand-new motorcycles, in a move aimed at promoting self-reliance, economic independence and discouraging youths from engaging in social vices.

The empowerment exercise, described by members of the humanitarian and Pan-African organisation as a celebration of hope, progress and renewed opportunities, was initiated by the President of the Ebonyi Zone, Chief Chika Joseph Nwangele, JP.

Presenting the motorcycles to the beneficiaries, Nwangele said the gesture was part of his administration’s commitment to translating leadership into tangible benefits for members, rather than limiting empowerment to promises and rhetoric.

Speaking on behalf of the Worldwide President of NBM of Africa, Dr Charles Chimezie, Ph.D., at the ceremony, Nwangele said the motorcycles would enable the beneficiaries to engage in legitimate transportation and other income-generating activities, thereby providing them with a sustainable means of livelihood.

He stressed that unemployment should not become a pathway to idleness or social vices, noting that empowering young people with productive opportunities remained critical to building stronger families, communities and the nation.

According to him, “When you build the youths, you build the entire community and nation,” adding that the initiative was designed to provide members with practical opportunities to improve their livelihoods and become economically independent.

The Ebonyi Zonal President said the empowerment was also in line with the humanitarian philosophy of NBM of Africa Worldwide, which he described as one of the cardinal objectives of the organisation under the leadership of Dr Chimezie.

He said the Ebonyi Zone would continue to implement initiatives aimed at supporting members and reaching out to people in need, stressing that the organisation remained committed to improving lives through practical humanitarian interventions.

Nwangele urged members to remain committed to personal development and productive ventures, saying collective progress could only be achieved when leaders were willing to lift others and create opportunities for them to succeed.

He expressed optimism that the beneficiaries would justify the confidence reposed in them by using the motorcycles responsibly and turning the opportunity into sustainable sources of income for themselves and their families.

Nwangele, who summed up the philosophy behind the initiative with the words, “We rise by lifting others,” said the Ebonyi Zone would continue to support programmes capable of uplifting members, their families and the wider community.

Reacting to the gesture, the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the leadership of NBM of Africa Worldwide, describing the motorcycles as a timely intervention that would ease their daily activities and open new economic opportunities for them.

They said the empowerment had demonstrated the organisation’s commitment to the welfare of its members and society at large, pledging to make judicious use of the motorcycles and ensure that the gesture translated into meaningful economic benefits.

The beneficiaries also commended the Ebonyi Zone for sustaining its humanitarian initiatives, saying the support would strengthen their confidence in the organisation and motivate them to contribute positively to its growth.
