We’ll Review Court Judgment On State Executives Before Taking Position – ADC

African Democratic Congress (ADC) says it will review the court judgment sacking its state executives before taking a position.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party was reacting to Wednesday’s Federal High Court judgment sacking its elected but yet-to-be inaugurated state executives.

NAN reports that the judgment barred INEC from recognising them, citing the David Mark-led NWC’s lack of authority.

A statement by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s National Publicity Secretary on Wednesday in Abuja said that the congresses did not truncate the tenure of the current state executives.

“The attention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been drawn to media reports that the Federal High Court, presided over by Justice Joyce O. Abdulmalik has sacked the elected but yet-to-be inaugurated state chairmen of our party.

“It would be recalled that we issued a statement shortly after the congresses, stating that the congresses had not truncated the tenure of the current state executives which would run its full course before the newly-elected state executives are inaugurated,” Abdullahi said.

He stated that the ADC leadership had instructed its legal team to review the judgment and advise the party accordingly.
