Ahead Of 2026, Pastor Azubuike Charges Christians To Live Impactful Lives; Worries About Insecurity In Edo

By Igbotako Nowinta

Benin City, Edo, Nigeria — Zonal Pastor Jackson Azubuike of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Shekinah Glory Headquarters, Oluku, Benin City, has declared 2026 as a year of “greater exploits,” urging Christians to live lives of lasting impact.

In his end-of-year and New Year message to the Body of Christ, during a special service held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, inside the church auditorium, in Oluku axis of the ancient city of Benin, Pastor Azubuike said believers must consciously live to advance the Kingdom of God on earth, stressing that where God’s kingdom and will prevail, oppression and injustice disappear.

The Clergy who referenced Luke 11:2 in support of his sermon, noted that Christians are called to be visible agents of God’s will in society.  He challenged believers to emulate the enduring legacy of Moses, whose impact, he said, transcended ancient Egypt and Israel and is still felt across the world today.

According to him, Christians should live in such a way that long after they are gone, their positive influence will remain evident.

“Be another Moses in 2026,” he charged.  The cleric outlined key traits of an impactful Christian, stating that such a believer must live a life of spiritual authority, where spoken words carry weight and are established, as stated in Job 22:28.

He added that an impactful Christian should experience divine empowerment for success in business, career, and life, drawing from Deuteronomy 8:18.

Pastor Azubuike further emphasized godly family leadership, citing Genesis 18:19, and called on believers to actively enforce God’s kingdom on earth through practical actions—healing the sick, feeding the hungry, engaging in evangelism, and creating positive influence in the lives of others.

He concluded that true impact is achieved through obedience to and total dependence on God.  Declaring the prophetic outlook for the coming year, he proclaimed that 2026 would be a year of greater exploits, saying God would use believers to “announce Himself on earth” through impactful living that transforms society.

On the state of security in Edo State, Pastor Azubuike expressed deep concern over the increasing threats to lives and property. He admonished the government to “wake up from its slumber,” insisting that the primary responsibility of any government is the protection of lives and property through effective and functional security structures.

He warned that any government that fails in this fundamental duty has failed in all other areas and prayed for divine intervention for Edo State.  His message resonated as both a spiritual charge and a civic call, challenging Christians to rise as agents of change while urging authorities to fulfill their constitutional responsibility to the people.
