Members of the Diaspora Akpakomiza Movement (DAM) have expressed explicit confidence in the Director-General (DG) of the Edo State Diaspora Agency, Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor, describing her leadership as exceptional.
The vote of confidence was passed by 23 members of the association during the welcome ceremony of Dr. Ogboro-Okor, who recently returned from Montreal, Canada where she attended the Edo National Association Worldwide (ENAW) Convention.
According to the statement signed by Dr. Osagie Igbinosun (USA, Edo State Diaspora Liaison in the United States, the Agency’s DG is coming at a time when visionary leadership is most needed, noting that it is heartening to witness the emergence of a dynamic figure at the helm of the Agency.
The statement disclosed that the recent appointment of Mrs. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor as the Agency’s Director-General is already proving to be a masterstroke in public service leadership.
“From the outset, Director General Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor has approached her new role with purpose, clarity, and a deep sense of responsibility.
“Her strategic vision, coupled with a hands-on leadership style, has already begun to transform the agency’s operations and renew confidence among diaspora communities around the world.
“Within a remarkably short period, she has set a new tone of professionalism, transparency, and proactive engagement.
“By prioritizing inclusive dialogue, she has opened new channels of communication with diaspora communities—bridging gaps, listening attentively to concerns, and ensuring that their voices are not only heard but valued in national development conversations.
“Under her stewardship, the agency has launched key initiatives aimed at harnessing the talents, resources, and goodwill of our diaspora.

“These programs are not just symbolic; they are structured, impactful, and aligned with long-term national goals. The renewed focus on partnership and collaboration signals a new era of mutual respect and shared growth”, the statement said.
The statement added: “What makes Director General, Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor ‘s leadership particularly remarkable is her ability to lead with both vision and empathy.
“She has demonstrated that leadership is not just about titles—it’s about service, connection, and the courage to pursue meaningful change towards the betterment of Edo State”.
The group, however, commended the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, for his wisdom and foresight in the appointment of Ogboro-Okor as its DG.
It maintained that Governor Okpenholo’s decision reflects deep understanding of the vital role the group is playing in the development of Edo State, just as it also reinforces the state government’s commitment to inclusive and strategic governance.
“As stakeholders, citizens, and proud members of the Edo diaspora, we express our unwavering vote of confidence in Director General, Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor.
“Her leadership has inspired hope, her actions have earned respect, and her results have justified the trust placed in her.
“Indeed, the journey ahead is long, but with Director General, Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor at the helm, we are assured that the Diaspora Agency is in capable, committed, and visionary hands.
“We celebrate her accomplishments thus far and look forward to even greater achievements in the months and years to come. Let’s work and join hands together to move Edo State forward,” the statement concluded.
