Rivers: Some Fights Are Not Worth It – Fubara Speaks On Reinstatement

Suspended Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara has hinted that he is no longer interested in returning to office, as some fights are not worth getting into.

Fubara, who spoke during a service of songs held on Sunday in Port Harcourt to honour the late elder statesman, Edwin Clark, said he is not eager to return as governor.

According to him, some fights are not worth getting into.

“Can’t you see how better I look? Do you think I am interested in it? My spirit has already left that place long ago,” Fubara said in a video of the moment posted online.

“I want everybody to focus, there are some fights you don’t fight,” he added.

Following Fubara’s feud and fallout with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, Rivers State was plunged into political crisis, resulting in President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency on March 18.

Tinubu also suspended Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all the state lawmakers.

Ibok-Ete Ibas, a retired naval chief, was subsequently appointed by the president as the sole administrator of Rivers.
