Prof Ochuko Iduemre Lauds UNIBEN Vice Chancellor, Prof Omoregie

…Says: VC has demonstrated positive pragmatic capacity

Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria – The Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Professor Edoba B. Omoregie (SAN), has been lauded for his proactive attitudes to administrative governance in the citadel of learning.

This declaration was made by a Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Ochuko Iduemre, in a chat with Alltimepost.com in Benin City, on Tuesday May 6th, 2025.

The university Don said the ivory towers in Nigeria need visionary administrators like Prof. Edoba Omoregie, who will perpetually go out to change things for the betterment and development of human capital, and ultimate best interests of students.

Prof. Iduemre, who specializes in industrial sociology and labor related matters said the Vice Chancellor has displayed glaring competence and positive pragmatic capacity inthe areas of “staff development, infrastructural push, speedy release of results by Senate, students’ welfare, sanitation exercises and general peace and tranquility within the walls of the University of Benin”.

According to the ebullient Prof: “In the current Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, l am seeing a determined administrator, who is focused and missionary in his interventions.

One of the central points of his agenda is staff cum students welfare; academic creativity and innovation. We are seeing a drastic commitment to general growth of theuniversity, via frank and down-to-earth applications of policies, coming from a tireless, innovative, hardworking and productive administrator.”

Professor Edoba B. Omoregie, SAN, is the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN). He was appointed on October 25, 2024, succeeding Professor Lillian Salami, whose tenure ended on December 1, 2024.
