Canadian Embassy Breaks Silence After Reports Of Denying CDS Musa Visa

The Canadian High Commission in Nigeria has spoken after reports that the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa and other senior Nigerian military officials were denied visas.

Nigerians have been reacting to the development, with many seeing it as a slight on not just Musa but the country as a whole.

Speaking in a statement released on Friday, the Canadian Embassy, while acknowledging the reports, opted to remain mum on the alleged visa denial.

According to the embassy, the privacy surrounding visa applications of specific individuals compels it to remain silent.

“The High Commission of Canada in Nigeria is aware of media reports related to planned travel by senior officials.

“However, for privacy reasons, we are unable to comment on the status of visa applications of specific individuals,” it said.
