Nigeria Witnessing Highest Number Of Youth, Women In Tinubu’s Govt, Says Northern Group

The Northern Youth Association of Nigeria (NYAN) has commended President Bola Tinubu for giving more appointments to the youth and women who make up the larger population of the nation.

The group lauded the President for his anti-corruption fight and his firm stance on fuel subsidy removal which they said is capable of reducing corruption.

The President of the association, Godiya Adams Bogoro made the statement while speaking with the pressmen on Thursday, after the endorsement of Mrs Sikirat Adunni into the Tinubu government, he said that the president has given the nation “good leadership” based on the “successes recorded.”

“We are proud of the courage taken to remove the fuel subsidy and the resultant impact; curbing corruption in the petroleum sector of the economy.”

Bogoro said that the group also appreciated the President for the palliative programme “geared towards ameliorating the sufferings of the Nigerians due to the removal of petroleum subsidy. The 50 percent transport subsidy for Christmas and New Year celebrations was a gift that Nigerians will not forget in a hurry.

“We also appreciate the effort towards protecting Nigeria, the student loan scheme and a new expected increment in the salary of workers are welcome developments and we are grateful to the President.

“It is on record that Nigeria has just witnessed the highest youth and women inclusion in government since the inception of democracy and this is courtesy of his honest disposition to fulfilling promises that are geared toward achieving inclusive governance,” he said.

The however, urged the President to consider the appointment of Mrs. Udu Sikira Adunni into any of the government MDA.

The group described Adunni as a national philanthropist who has impacted on many lives with her resources and energy.

According to them, she has a passion for national development and a zero tolerance for corruption. The group said that Adunni became their choice for inclusion in the Tinubu government after reviewing her contributions to the All Progressives Congress and her immediate environment.
