Breaking: It Is Fake, Edo Govt Disowns Letter Appointing PDP State Chair Special Adviser

As a letter allegedly issued by Edo State Government purportedly appointing the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, as Special Adviser Political (Esan North East/Esan South East) makes waves on social media, the Government says it is fake.

The letter and news about the alleged appointment which were published by some online newspapers (not Alltimepost.com) had caused a stir and confusion in the state, especially within the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.

In a statement released today, Osarodion Ogie Esq., Secretary to the State Government, who was alleged to have signed the letter, advised the public to discountenance such document in circulation.

He described the letter as fake, fabricated, and the product of mischief makers with the intention of stirring a crisis.

Below is the full text of Ogie’s statement:

The attention of the Edo State Government has been drawn to a purported appointment letter addressed to the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, allegedly appointing him as a Special Adviser Political (Esan North East/Esan South East).

We state categorically that the letter is fake, fabricated, and the product of mischief makers with the intention of stirring a crisis.

The letter did not emanate from the State government, and we enjoin members of the public to disregard it in its entirety.

We discourage the criminal attempt by detractors to cause confusion within the public space and as it clearly amounts to an act of forgery, which is punishable under extant laws.

The fake document has been forwarded to the Nigerian Police Force for proper investigation and when the culprits are found, they will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Osarodion Ogie Esq.

Secretary to the State Government.
