AAU Appoints Ex-Edo NUJ Chairman Head Corporate Communications

Ekpoma, Edo, Nigeria – Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, has appointed the former Chairman, Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Otunba Mike Ade Aladenika Head of Corporate Communications of the institution.

The appointment of Otunba Mike Aladenika was revealed in a statement issued by the University’s Acting Registrar, Ambrose Odiase and made available to journalists in the state.

AAU Acting Register statement explained that the appointment of the former Head of News and Current Affairs, AIT Benin, was aimed at repositioning the state-owned university.

“It is the belief of the management that with the appointment of a senior media practitioner, our rebranding process is gradually climaxing, thus putting AAU at an enviable position among the comity of institutions of higher learning.

“Nigerians and our dear people of Edo State should know that Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, is not only an institution of today but one with its eyes into the future”, he stated.

Comrade Aladenika, is an alumnus of the Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti and the International Institute of journalism.

He is the current Chairman, Online Media Practitioners and Principal Editor, SPARKNEWSNAIJA.

Otunba Mike Aladenika was NUJ Chairman, Edo State Council between 2006 and 2009.

Describing his appointment as well-deserved and a good omen for Edo NUJ, his successor, Comrade Friday Obanor thanked Edo State government and authorities of AAU for choosing a member of the union for the enviable position.

Comrade Friday Obanor, however, enjoined the new head of corporate communications of AAU to use his wealth of experience to take the institution to greater heights.
