Tinubu, Wife Return To Abuja Ahead Of May 29 Swearing-in

Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, arrived Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, on Monday.

Tinubu’s flight touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and was welcomed by a crowd of supporters, according to the PUNCH.

The President-elect arrived from France in the company of his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, at the presidential wing of the airport to a rousing welcome by party faithful and supporters who had been anticipating his arrival.

The Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, was also among the supporters and top members of the All Progressives Congress who received him.

Tinubu had on March 21 travelled out of the country to spend some time in Paris and London.

Tinubu arrives Nigeria from France.

According to a statement by Tunde Rahman for the Office of the President-elect, the trip was to enable Tinubu to rest and plan his transition programme ahead of his inauguration on May 29.

Tinubu lauded supporters in a later post on Twitter, saying he was extremely excited to be back home.

“I am extremely excited to be back home and deeply humbled by the warm welcome I received on my return to Abuja today. Thank you all for your love and support. Our promise to deliver a nation of Renewed Hope for all Nigerians remains in motion,” he tweeted.

Tinubu took to his Twitter page to also share photos of his arrival as supporters welcomed him.
