FRSC Canvasses Ethical Values For Drivers In Edo.

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) believes that driving when tired, moving at high speed when navigating in-between vehicles, and regularly beating traffic lights by motorists have consequences.

At a one-day sensitization call on Thursday, held in Benin City, where relevant stakeholders gathered to champion various ways of abating imminent danger posed ahead of the Easter celebration, the leadership of the safety corps, said informed the decision for educating motorists in the state.

The Corps Sector Commander, Edo State Command, Paul Okpe while addressing participants said people should begin to see the need to avoid some of the things identified to abate loss of lives.

Okpe explained that most accidents recorded are a result of flouting safety rules by motorists plying various routes, warning against further abuse by drivers.

Participants who also spoke on compliance of transporters, including RTAEN Deputy State Secretary Edo State, Chief Benedict Okpokunu, Zonal Coordinator Special Marshall Zone Five, Ekhator Friday, and Prominent Transporter, Godwin Eigbochie, are calling for continuous advocacy to end the unexpected death toll, occasioned by unprofessional conduct of drivers on the wheels.

This year’s Easter Special Patrol Rally is themed, Driving Tired is as Dangerous as Driving Drunk, where participants were warned to avoid over speeding, night trips, and the use of worn-out tyres.
