Breaking: Labour Party Sweeps Presidential Election In Edo

Nigeria’s Labor Party (LP) has swept Edo State, having polled 331,163 of total votes cast to defeat rival political parties in the heartbeat of the nation in last Saturday’s Presidential election in which Peter Obi contested.

Presidential Electoral Returning Officer, Professor Nyandoh Ndaeyo, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, declared the results today, after the collation.

Professor Nyandoh Ndaeyo said the total valid votes in the state were 581,266, putting rejected votes at 2,743.

Out of the 2,501,081 Voters registered, 603,894 were accredited to cast their votes, with total votes cast put at 600,395.

Edo ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) suffered a humiliating defeat having polled 89,585 while the main opposition party, APC, polled 144,471.

Professor Nyandoh Ndaeyo noted that incidences of violence were recorded in 119 polling units where voting could not take place, putting the figure of Voters who were disenfranchised at 90,774.
