2023: Obidients Must Be Vigilant Till End Of Counting Process – LP Campaign Spokesman

…Commends Edo voters for voting for Peter Obi

Benin City, Nigeria – Amid tension and apprehensions in Nigeria over the Presidential and National Assembly elections, members of the Obidient Movement worldwide have been advised to remain calm and be extremely vigilant while the official results are being expected.

Comrade Igbotako Nowinta, the Chairman of Media & Publicity Committee of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council (LP- PCC), Edo State made the passionate appeal on Sunday.

Comrade Nowinta who equally expressed his gratitude to voters in Edo State for coming out massively to vote for Peter Obi and all candidates of Labour Party during Saturday’s general elections, made the appeal in a press release made available to journalists in Benin City, on Sunday February 26, 2023.

Nowinta said in the press release:

“On Saturday February 25th, 2023, the accursed enemies of democracy in Edo State, and elsewhere in the country, tried frantically to disenfranchise millions of Obidients who had thronged the various polling stations to vote for Peter Obi and all candidates of Labour Party, but failed woefully to break our nationalistic spirits.

“Particularly in Edo State, we saw the most brutal and barbaric methods unleashed by the foot soldiers of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the  All Progressives Congress ( APC) against peaceful and determined supporters of Peter Obi in many designated voting centres.

Not only that vote buying was attempted, but the crudest acts of political thuggery was visited on our supporters in places like Orhionwon, lyaro-Idia College, Uwelu, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, etc; even some persons were shot to death.

“We are using this opportunity to express our gratitude to the voters in Edo State, and across the country for standing solidly behind Peter Obi and all Labour Party’s candidates that contested the general elections.  We say: thank you for displaying powerful political signals to the enemies of Nigerian state.

“Though, we have already been bruised and maltreated in some of the voting centres yesterday, while performing our national duty, we must not allow those that desperately wants to rig this very important election to squeeze us out of our anticipated victory; obidients worldwide should be calm and extremely vigilant till the end of the counting process by the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC).

“The political destiny of Nigeria resides with the masses, never with those that have been stabbing us with systemic treachery. We shall overcome!
