Obaseki Joins Atiku, Okowa At Adeleke’s Swearing-in As Osun Governor

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Sunday, joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; Delta State Governor and Atiku’s running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa in Osogbo for the swearing-in of Sen. Ademola Jackson Adeleke as the Governor of Osun State.

Other dignitaries who attended the ceremony of the governor and his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, were: National Chairman of the PDP, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu; Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal; Bayelsa State Governor, Duoye Diri; Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndidi Elumelu; former Senate President, Sen. Olubukola Saraki, and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, among others.

Governor Adeleke in his inaugural address thanked the founding fathers of Osun State, past and present leaders of the state for setting the state on the path of progress, noting that the mantle of leadership on his shoulders will be well utilized for growth and development.

On his part, Governor Obaseki congratulated Adeleke on his swearing-in as Osun State, noting, “I heartily congratulate you, my brother and friend, on your inauguration, which ushers in a new era of growth and progress for the good people of Osun State.” 

Obaseki added, “We are confident that you will deliver on the task of transforming Osun into a leading state in human and economic development in Nigeria.”
