Decomposing Body of Murdered Kidnapping Victim Recovered By Edo Police

Decomposing body of a murdered thirty-five-year-old Kidnapping Victim, Mr. Shegu Oyekanmi has been recovered in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria by the Police.

Edo State Police Command however said that one suspect has been arrested out of the five-man kidnapping gang responsible for the heinous Crime.

The Suspect Mallam Usman Muhammed led men of Edo State Police Command’s Intelligence Rapid Response Squared and some Journalist to the scene of crime at Uhen Forest in Ovia North East Local Government Area.

The body of the kidnapped Victim identified as Shegun Oyekanmi has started decomposing due to lack of preservation.

Alltimepost.com gathered that the deceased was kidnapped on the 17th of September 2022 alongside two other victims but only Shegun was killed in the forest while the kidnappers relocated the other Victims to unknown destination.

The Public Relations Officer, Edo State Police Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor told Newsmen who accompanied him to the Forest where late Mr Shegun Oyekanmi’s body was recovered, that the operation which led to the arrest of the suspect was made possible through the Command’s Intelligence team headed by SP Collins Osagie.

Nwabuzor identified the two other victims as Sunday khima aged 65 and Margret James, aged 45 who later regain freedom.

The Police Public Relations Officer said it took many hours for the Men of the Command’s Intelligence team to plead and prevent the Local Residents from lynching the arrested kidnapper Usman Muhammed who is a Herder in the forest reserved area of Okada.

The Suspect confessed that he pleaded with his gang members not to kill the victim but all to no avail adding that he had just joined the Gang of hardened Bandits.
