Fake Soldier With ‘CIA’ ID Card Arrested In Benin

Officials of the Edo State Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV) have arrested an alleged fake military officer Mr. Sunday James who was said to have engaged in the intimidation of residents and traders in Benin City.

PUWOV State Commander, Mr. Mukhtar Yusuf-Osagie, while parading the Suspect, said luck ran out of him at Oba Ovonramwen Square popularly called Ring Road, with a fake military identification card from the Civil Intelligence Agency (CIA).

According to him, the suspect was arrested following intelligence and complaints from residents in the area.

He said the suspect has been handed over to the Oba Market Police Division for further investigation and prosecution.

Yusuf-Osagie assured of increased collaboration with other security agencies to ensure a crime-free yuletide in Edo State.

Yusuf-Osagie said PUWOV was committed to supporting the state government in curbing all forms of criminality and making the state habitable for every resident.

As at press time, Edo State police could not be reached for comment.
