A book, titled The Work of a Press Secretary, written by Dr Burkard Weth, former press attaché to the German Embassy in Nigeria arrived arrive Benin City Edo state during the week from Germany through a mail sent by Shaker Media.
The book is a 57-page work wrought in 2019 and published by Shaker media as an e-book, and can be obtained from the website of the publishers, Shaker Media. The copy in Nigeria is a hard copy, and can be ordered through the publishers.
With seven chapters, the book covers areas like ‘how press secretaries should handle social media’, ‘role of press secretary in social media management’, ‘how press secretaries can deal with the press’, ‘proven tips to get an interview on the radio’, ‘Crisis PR, and ‘the different environments of the press officer’.
Media representatives of Dr Weth in Nigeria said they are delighted that finally, The Work of a Press Secretary arrived Nigeria. ‘Typically German in being thorough, typically professional, and typically well presented: the book is seminal in that there are no such books preferring navigational tools and implements for a Nigerian press secretary to pull through the often precarious political, economic and social landmine that Nigeria’s presents.
The book will soon be presented to relevant media stakeholders in Benin City Edo state, and plans are being made to get the buy-in of the National body of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.
