Edo Muslims Pilgrim Board Charges Faithful To Obey Govt COVID-19 Protocols

Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has urged Muslim faithful in the state to observe the state coronavirus (COVID-19) prevention protocol emplaced to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 in the state.

In a letter addressed to Muslim Traditional Rulers, Imams and Muslim stakeholders signed by the board’s Executive Secretary, Iduoze Mohammed Eselegbe, the board called for adherence to the state’s COVID-19 protocol as the rate of spread of the virus in the state has become alarming.  

According to her, “Government is concerned about the health and welfare of all Edo people. COVID-19 is not only real, it is a killer virus. Presently, the virus is ravaging everywhere, even the richest economies and advanced nations of the world.

“Edo State Government urges everybody to note this and therefore, strictly adhere to all COVID-19 preventive protocols. Wear your facemask, wash your hands with soap always, apply the hand sanitizer often and maintain social distancing as well as avoid crowded areas.“Edo State has no sufficient bed space to admit COVID-19 patients now because of the surge of pandemic.”
