Obaseki’s Court Victory: PDP Asks APC For Apologies, Commitment To Good Character

By Okhide Em’ya David

Ruling People’s Democratic Party in Edo State says Governor Obaseki’s victory at the Federal High Court in Abuja clearly demonstrates that information and stories put out by the state All Progressives Congress (APC) were built on falsehood, social greed, intellectual imbecility and pathological irresponsibility.

Edo PDP noted: “However, if each and every one of them own up to their ignoble roles, tender well-intentioned apologies and commitment to be of good character, show respect to Edo people, toe the path of honour and have the decency of admitting to the fact that they spread lies and concocted fake stories to sell their mandate and attempted to dupe the courts, Edo people may show some mercy.”

The Party acknowledges after all, that “Governor Obaseki is a reasonable man while Edo people are reasonable people.”

A statement by the State publicity Secretary Mr. Chris Osa Nehikhare at the weekend urged Edo people not to only punish them with their votes in subsequent election days, but to consider them public enemy number one henceforth.

PDP recalled that they had advised APC before the Court case that “it was again traveling the road of ignominy instead of joining the government to build a society where hard work is rewarded, where hate should be condemned and love for a prosperous state the driving spirit of our being,” but their advice was ignored.

Edo PDP congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki on the resounding victory he recorded in the Federal High Court Abuja saying it was a testimony to the fact that the present government in the state was enthroned by the wish of Edo people and had the blessings of God.

The Party urged the good People to be patient as Obaaeki’s ‘resetting Edo Agenda’ moves to the next level.
