Nigerian-American Physician, Uyi Igbinadolor Champions Cause Of COVID-19 Vaccination, Receives 2nd Dose

“Feeling great. Please take the vaccine when available so that we can have the herd immunity needed to end this coronavirus pandemic,” a Nigerian American physician, Dr. Uyi Philip Igbinadolor appealed to his African community after he received the second dose of the vaccine last Saturday.

He called on the people to Ignore the DNA transformation or other conspiracy theories initiated by “ignorant folks about the safety and efficacy of coronavirus vaccines,” announcing on multiple WhatsApp groups and Facebook pages: “Got my 2nd dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine today as an essential worker.”

Igbinadolor, a member of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) and President of U. Philip Igbinadolor, D.M.D. & Associates, P.A., told Alltimepost.com that he took the first dose of the vaccine on December 29, 2020.

His effort is an attempt to help save lives and prevent the spread of the pandemic by encouraging and reassuring his community and the world at large about the safety of the vaccine at a time when people, especially members of the community of color are skeptical about the genuineness of treatment motives.

Igbinadolor said he received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID -19 because of his race (Black African), Gender (Male), Age and Profession,” which he said place him “at increased risk of getting infected, being seriously ill with the disease with potentially lethal consequences.”

“Reinfection has been reported. Please get the vaccine ASAP. Painless and no cause for alarm,” he advised.
