To Avert COVID-19 Outbreaks In Elderly Housing

The potential for a COVID disaster in multifamily housing for elderly
and disabled has escalated because of the increased risk of community transmission in many Massachusetts communities.

The heightened risk of infection exists in many public and subsidized
housing facilities, including in Peabody, Somerville, and Salem.

Many of the elderly or disabled tenants in these facilities for
elderly and disabled persons are at elevated risk for serious outcomes
or death from COVID.

Prevention is the best protection. But in many housing developments,
neither management or tenants enforce or follow the best practice
protocols for protection and mitigation.
