Salem Hospital To Limit Visitors Due To Rising Coronavirus Rates

SALEM, MA — The North Shore Medical Center will institute additional visitor restrictions at Salem Hospital, effective Tuesday, due to rising coronavirus rates on the North Shore.

Patients will be allowed to designate only one visitor for their entire stay at the hospital. The designation will be made at the time of admittance with the patient responsible for communication the designated person to family and friends.

Visitors will have to check in at the Salem Hospital main entrance and pass through a coronavirus screening protocol.

Special accommodations will be made for parents and guardians of patients under 18, attorneys of patients and companions for patients with physical and intellectual disabilities, as well as exceptions for compassionate care with approval of the patient’s care team.

Salem Hospital will support virtual visits through telephone, smart phone or tablet.Subscribe
