Edo Poly Provides Face Masks, Free Transport To Students, Staff As School Reopens

Management of Edo State Polytechnic, Usen has provided staff and students with free face masks, hand sanitisers and other safety kits upon resumption for continuation of academic activities after the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic induced lockdown of the institution.

Rector of the Polytechnic, Prof. Abiodun Falodun, in a chat with journalists, said the institution has ensured to provide necessary health and safety kits to students and staff for smooth take off of academic activities.

Prof. Falodun noted that aside the safety kits, transportation was provided for staff and students resuming from Benin City, as a means to ameliorate the economic hardships experienced by students and staff in the wake of outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, “We are very conscious of the peculiar times we are in. This is why we have ensured to support students and staff of our school as the institution reopens to continue academic activities. Our gesture includes the provision of face masks, hand sanitizers and logistics support to ensure that our people are well motivated to resume back to school.”

He expressed appreciation to Governor Godwin Obaseki for being proactive in handing the COVID-19 pandemic in the state, noting that the governor’s approach has been a source of inspiration to the school’s management.
