Edo Govt’s 24-hour Curfew Still In Place, Warns Obaseki Media Adviser

Edo State Government reiterates that the 24-hour curfew imposed on Monday, October 19, 2020, in the state to quell civil disturbances in the wake of the hijack of #ENDSARS protests is still active as at 21 October, 2020, and subsists till further notice.

The government has deployed men of the anti-riot unit of the Nigeria Police Force to the streets to ensure full compliance with the directive, according to the statement released by Mr. Crusoe Osagie, Special Adviser, Media & Communication Strategy to Governor Obaseki of Edo State.

“The security agencies have clear orders to deal with individuals who flout the directive and are found loitering on the streets.

“In line with its responsibility to protect lives and property in the state, the state government would continue to advance efforts to maintain law and order and ensure that the state is safe for all law-abiding citizens.”
