Benin Royal Family In North America Elects New Officers

Members of the Benin Royal Family In North America recently elected new officers that will serve the organization for the next two years.

The election was conducted by a three-man electoral committee, including Prince Osazee Osula (Chairman), Prince Noel Enorense Osa and Princess Blessing Akenzua, in accordance with the constitution of the organization, as an incorporated non-profit entity in the United States of America.

The following members emerged as new officers of the organization: Prince Christopher Eweka, President; Prince (Dr.) Uyi Phillip Igbinadolor, Vice President; Prince Larry Eweka, Secretary-General; Princess Amenze Uyiekpen Ighile, Assistant Secretary-General; Prince Egbewuare Eweka, Treasurer; Princess Eunice Asemota, Financial Secretary.

Others included: Princess Esohe Edomioya, Director of Social; Prince Emmanuel Okunmwendia, Director of Public Relations; Prince (Att) Osahon Osula, Director of Legal Affairs; Prince Semi Eriyo, Director of Membership and Fund Raising; Princess Owen Omobogie-Akenzua, Director of Protocol and Prince (Dr.)Harris Enabulele, Director of Research and Cultural Affairs.

In his post-election speech, the newly elected President, Prince Christopher Eweka pledged allegiance to the Great Benin Throne, and the organization. He promised to work towards building an organization that would promote the interest of the Great Benin Kingdom; unity, love, progress and strong support system among members.

Prince Eweka noted that in accepting to serve the organization, he was cognizant of the enormous challenges that come with the job and that with determination, coupled with the support and cooperation of family members he was sure of success.

Prince Eweka expressed his passion about his homeland of the Great Benin Kingdom and said he was committed to its development in particular and Edo State in general.

He noted that support for his people at home and promotion of Benin cultural values would form part of his administration’s agenda, calling on all members to support him in this endeavor.

On behalf of other members of the executive, Prince Eweka thanked members of the Benin Royal Family for giving them the opportunity to serve, pledging that they would not betray the confidence reposed in them.
