Edo 2020: Oshiomhole Begs Enegies For Forgiveness, seeks support for Ize-Iyamu

It was drama yesterday August 26, 2020 in Egbaen Community, Edo State when the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC for the Edo Governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, took his campaign to members of the association of Enigies in Edo South.

The show of forced humility exhibited by Mr. Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole threw the audience into awe when the former governor fell on his two knees to beg for forgiveness.

Oshiomhole told his bewildered audience that he had come to beg the Benin traditional Community heads for forgiveness having called the APC candidate, Ize-Iyamu derogatory names when he contested against Governor Godwin Obaseki in 2016.

While the dismissed former National Chairman off APC lasted on his knees, the Enigies asked Mr. Ize-Iyamu to sit, probably to show acceptance of Oshiomhole’s pleadings.

“I want to apologize for my poor judgement in the past” Oshiomhole said.

The APC candidate used the event to sell his manifesto which he has christianed ‘Simple Agenda’ to the Enigies.

The event took palace in the palace of the Royal Highness, Edomwonyi Iduozee Ogiegbean, the Enigie of Egbaen.

Ize-Iyamu promised his host to improve the conditions of security in Edo State, through government direct investment in the security architecture of the state and cooperation with traditional rulers and community heads who are closer to the people.

The APC Governorship hopeful also promised employ more teachers for Edo State schools.

The President, Highness, Edomwonyi Iduozee Ogiegbean, who spoke on behalf of the Enigies expressed their non-partisanship and prayed for Ize-Iyamu and his entourage.

Oshiomhole accused Governor Obaseki of abandoning the projects his administration initiated.

Others present include, Edugie. O. Oguigo, the Enigie of Ugo- Niyekorhiomwon, HRH Anthony Osagie, the Enigie of Uruegbe, and HRH Dr. Aiweroghene Iduriase, the Enigie of Eyaen.

Some APC leaders were also present, including, Mr. Lucky Imasuen, former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Mr. Patrick Obahiagbon, Vice-Chairman of Media and Publicity Committee of APC National Campaign Council, Mr. Washington Osifo, Mr Osaretin Edosomwan, former Special Adviser, Rt. Hon. Festus Ebea, former Speaker of the Edo Assembly, Hon. Razaq Bello Osagie, former member of House of Reps, Hon. Samson Osagie, Edo South Coordinator, and Hon. Chris Okaeben,

Other dignitaries present were Lawrence Okah, Edo State secretary, Engr. Isaac Osahon, former member House of Reps, Prince Ekpen Eweka, Chief Francis Inegbeniki, Mr Gallant Ogbomo, Mr. Tony Uwaifo, Mr. Osadolor Omoregie among others.
