LEGAL TEAM CONGRATULATES PASTOR OSAGIE IZE-IYAMU ON HIS SUCCESS AT APC SCREENING EXERCISE

My dear brother, I greet you. On behalf of your legal team, I would like to congratulate you on your clearance at the recent screening exercise to run for the post of APC candidate that would fly the Party’s flag at the September 19, 2020 Governorship Election for Edo State.

There is something very interesting about your person. Why is it that you remain the most talked about politician in Edo State at this time? You have only served as Secretary to the State Government and Chief of Staff to Government House, yet you animate the politics of the State with ideas and inspire debates with your words.

One thing I know is that much of these attributes have to do with your charisma, clarity of thought and eloquence. From your Edo college days till date, those who crossed your path are not in doubt about your unique ability, which is rare in others to sum up your hopes and dreams for your community and galvanize society towards the realization of such dreams for the good of all.

I remember how you put a committee  of students together in Edo College to represent some students who were expelled for activism at the public hearing of the Bendel State House of Assembly Committee on Education headed by the then Minority Leader of that House, Dr. Akpojaro. The irony is that you were not affected by the expulsion order of the college Principal, Rev. Canon Ayeni. It was the height of selflessness.

Only recently, a lot of people witnessed and gave serious approval to how you touched the lives of Edo people at the outset of Covid-19 pandemic in the State. It’s not just about what you did, but the efficient organization that you brought into it.

Your “we are all in it together“ style of interaction has woken many from indifference. It is your engagement style that brought in many of those running the  Government of the State today into political relevance and we all know this.

It is to your credit that you are not just a believer, but a pastor. That has made it easy for you to get motivated by faith in helping to transform the conscience of people, fortifying the sense of responsibility in young men  and women in Edo State.

In wishing you goodluck at the primaries of APC on 22nd June, 2020, it is my prayer that God would crown your endeavors with success. In return, you must continue to remember the ill-fed, ill-clothed, ill-housed and ill- secured in Edo State. They are part of our humanity and you would need to cushion their plight.

In conclusion, I would like to paraphrase the admonition of the legendary Barrack Obama in his speech titled; A Hope To Fufill, which was delivered on April 26, 2005 at Washington, DC. The former United States President said that;

*America doesn’t have a place where our individual aspirations are at war with our common good; it’s a place where one makes the other possible*.

Please, remember these words always and when God helps you to succeed, work extremely hard  to harness the various aspirations of Edo people into our common good.

As for your legal team, we would continue to work very hard to complement your efforts by the grace of God.

Once again, we congratulate you.
