Breaking: Court Strikes Out Suit To Stop Obaseki

Justice Emmanuel Obile of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, today struck o ut an application by a Governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihiama, seeking to stop Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki from participating in the party primaries scheduled for Thursday June 25, 2020.

According to Midwestherald, Justice Obile struck out the suit after all the parties in the matter agreed to resolve their issues outside the court.

Edo State Peoples Democratic Party Governorship aspirant, Ogbeide-Ihama had asked for an out-of-court settlement when the matter came up earlier today. The judge adjourned to enable the parties reached agreement and report back on their decision.

At the resumed hearing after the break, Ogbeide-Ihiama’s lawyer, Ferdinand Orbih SAN made the application to withdraw the suit against his party and Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki.

Justice Emmanuel Obile subsequently struck out the case.

The two times Federal Legislator had asked the court to restrain Obaseki from contesting the party primaries as he questioned the decision of the National Working Committee of his party to accommodate the former All Progressives Congress, APC governor in the pre primaries screening and collection of forms.
