MA Releases Coronavirus Case Counts For North Shore Nursing Homes

BEVERLY, MA —For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic started, the state Department of Public Health is releasing the number of confirmed new coronavirus cases at Massachusetts nursing homes, rest homes and skilled nursing facilities.

In Massachusetts, patients and staff at nursing homes make up about 16 percent of confirmed coronavirus cases and 52 percent of coronavirus-related deaths.

The data released Monday contains case counts for every facility that has two or more confirmed cases among patients and staff. The case counts were presented in ranges to better protect individual patient privacy.
